Joe has been advocating for victims of abuse and contributing to Safe Horizon\u2019s\u00a0grassroots fundraising efforts for years.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, he joined Team Horizon as a 2015 New York City Half Marathon (NYC Half) runner and\u00a0raised more than $3, 400 to benefit Safe Horizon.<\/p>\n<h2>Why Safe Horizon? In His Own Words<\/h2>\n<p>When Joe first heard about Safe Horizon\u2019s work for victims of violence and abuse from one of our board members, he immediately knew he was interested in getting involved.<\/p>\n<p>As a devoted father of two young children, Joe feels great empathy for families affected by violent crime. On a tour of Safe Horizon\u2019s Manhattan Child Advocacy Center, Joe was shocked to see children his daughters\u2019 ages playing in the waiting area. But he also was impressed by the extensive services available.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2556\"
