In the current state of quarantine, schools are closed for an extended period, and you may still be required to go to work. Here are some ways you can keep kids safe during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis.\r\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 28px; color: #00a5e3;\">1. Identify\u00a0Triggers\u00a0and\u00a0Practice\u00a0Self-Care<\/h2>\r\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">Families being together around-the-clock can create <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">anxiety. T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ension about finances, fear of the unknown<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">an overall <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">feeling<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">being\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">overwhelm<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ed <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">could also <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">trigger<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0anger being taken out on a child.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Identify these triggers and figure out ways to plan around them by seeking <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ways to help diffuse <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">conflict\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and calm down.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ake a\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">short\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">walk, do breathing exercises, or take other steps to remove yourself from the situation, even if it\u2019s going into another room for a few minutes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Safe Horizon advocates are also great listeners. You may have no other choice than to leave your children with a babysitter or other type of caregiver.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hen considering\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">caregiver<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">for<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0your\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">kids<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">be sure to vet them\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">by taking a record of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">their identifying information and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">requesting\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">referen<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ces.
