To help you navigate all the possible conversations that take place when #MeToo starts trending, here are five helpful articles:<\/strong>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.safehorizon.org\/programs\/4-black-survivors-advocates-sexual-assault\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cHow Are We Still Here?\u201d Four Black Survivors and Advocates Talk Sexual Assault<\/a>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><em>\u201cIt\u2019s really difficult I think as a black man to come forward and be honest about the way in which they are looked at and dealt with as survivors of it, not perpetrators.\u201d - Terry Crews<\/em><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/2017\/10\/176817\/friend-sexual-assault-survivor-help\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">What To Say When Someone Tells You They've Been Sexually Assaulted Or Harassed<\/a>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>When people you know \u2014 friends, family members, distant acquaintances, coworkers \u2014 come forward about their experiences with sexual assault or harassment on social media, it can be hard to know what to say.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/telling-partner-about-sexual-trauma_n_5bbd02c6e4b01470d0563d74\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How To Talk To Your Significant Other About Your History Of Sexual Trauma<\/a>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>Having that conversation on a public platform takes unimaginable courage, but there\u2019s another conversation that\u2019s no less difficult for women and men who\u2019ve experienced sexual trauma: talking through what happened with a significant other.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allure.com\/story\/note-to-sexual-assault-survivors-who-arent-ready-to-come-forward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A Note to Survivors Who Aren\u2019t Ready to Share Their Sexual Assaults<\/a>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><em>\u201cFor those who aren\u2019t comfortable or ready or wanting to disclose, that\u2019s totally okay and totally normal. Everyone\u2019s entitled to make their own choices, especially when in that act of abuse or violence, their choice has been taken away from them.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.safehorizon.org\/safe-horizon-in-the-news\/recanting-domestic-abuse-allegations-claims\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Why Would Someone Recant Abuse Allegations?<\/a>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>Recanting sexual assault allegations happens more often than we think. For one, survivors may feel like nobody in their community believes them. Everyone has their own coping mechanism. It's about what feels like a safe choice for the survivor.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nWe encourage all survivors to choose the option that is right for them.
